President Obama, who has expressed his fears about his daughter Malia becoming a teenager next month, is apparently dreading her birthday so much that for a brief moment on Wednesday, he thought she had already turned 13.

At a press conference at the White House, Obama suggested that his daughters, who “generally finish their homework a day ahead of time,” could serve as role models for members of Congress.

Clearly further evidence of his socialist tendencies.

4 days early. yeah that is the same as calling John Quincy Adams a founding father and that the founding fathers worked tirelessly for decades after they died in order to end slavery.

OMG!!!!!! This is terrible!!!!! Wow!!!! So disgraceful!!!!

I think I need to park my life as a complete disgrace also. How many times I have mistaken for the moment what age one of my children is? More than once. If this is a national disgrace, my behavior is much worst. Nit picking aren't you, Grimm? By my standards, seeding something like this has greater portent of poor character than Obama misstating his daughter's age.

I propose that anyone seeding links about any menial gaffes should be flogged and flamed relentlessly.

That includes what town in Iowa, that starts with a W, a deceased actor was born in ... and a parent slipping up on their daughter's age.

This just shows how lame and ignorant and worthless righties are.

They actually lack the intellectual capacity to see either see the difference between misstating your child's age, and not knowing basic historical facts about US history - something I've yet to see one rightie EVER get correct without me correcting them and making them look like ignorant fools, or to be so shallow and emotionally and intellectually as to engage in "so's your old man" games, like a 5 or 6 year old.

You know, I remember a story about Jackie Robinson. While during the first year in the Majors, Jackie was getting crap from everyone in every town the team played in, every teammember, opposing team's players, the Umps, the sportswriters, the broadcaster's, fans, hotel staff, travel staff, kitchen workers...EVERYONE. And when I say "crap" I DON'T mean about his play. I mean, every other kind of crap one can get just from being in a world full of small minded morons who nitpick about nonsense.

But the WHOLE TIME, he just kept stealing bases & batting guys in.

I'm no MLB statistician, but I'm pretty sure he took the top honors in those categories that year.

One time, he rattled a pitcher so good, the hurler threw 3 balls and a balk and Jackie WALKED into home and scored... and one of those balls Jackie did NOTHIN' but stand square on the bag & didn't move a muscle.

Rattled him so good-his reputation scored the run.

I am one of his most outspoken critics for his past gaffes (57 states, corpsmen, 2008 sign in, etc) but not even I am going to get my knickers in a bunch over this. Recently, I thought I was 59 and about to collect my military pension when it turns out I am only 58 so I collect next year. For me to get all bent out of shape about this would be a total case of kettle/pot. My own father literally asked me for years when my mother's birthday was. I shall just file this latest under the No Big Deal file.

That's actually funny. I've done the exact same thing with my own daughter (ok, stepdaughter). Then insisted I was correct and SHE was wrong. She won the argument when she said that she was there and I wasn't.

And of course were it Palin or Bachmann who did this there would be multiple seeds about it with roaring consensus over their incompetence, ineptness, whatever. The fact is that the President has had a very consistent pattern of not knowing what the hell he's talking about right from the git-go. Actually, there's no reason to get your knickers in a bunch over his "57 states" gaffe.

My biggest problem with President Obama is everything is about spreading fear. If you don't do it his way then this could happen or this or that... OMG! We must pass that bill now!

The worst was when he went on about evil Doctors chopping off feet and tearing out tonsils for extra money when they don't have to. Not a word from the liberals or the media on the blatant lies and fear mongering by our President. Not a damn word from any of them.

So Silvaria, if a Harvard Grad. can believe that Doctors just go around chopping off feet for fun then it isn't that far of a step to think he doesn't know how many states there is. For a Harvard Grad. he's an idiot. Not even my twelve year old thinks Doctors chop off feet just for money. As I told my kids, "If Obama could Graduate from Harvard then anybody can."

Jason, I find that interesting, since from my point of view, the right is all about spreading fear.

Just on this site alone, which is a more liberal site, Obama is frequently accused of trying to destroy the nation, trying to destroy capitalism, trying to destroy democracy, trying to destroy our rights, trying to destroy the unborn, trying to destroy the sanctity of marriage, and best of all, trying to destroy the entire world with his nazi-fascist-socialist-liberal policies.

Talk about fear-mongering!

Both sides are guilty, but in my opinion, Obama is doing the best he can with what he was handed, which was a platter full of crap.

And again, anyone who truly thinks a Harvard graduate actually believes there are 57 states is so far gone in their Obama Derangement Syndrome that I simply don't really know what to say. I thought Bush was an idiot, but I don't think even he honestly believed something that asinine.

He was handed a liberal Congress, allowed to spend over 4 Trillion in two and half years, and given a media that wouldn't question anything he was doing.

I do agree with you on one thing... Obama is doing the best he can with what he was handed. It's not his fault he was born the way he was.

anyone who truly thinks a Harvard graduate

I'm not impressed with the intelligence of a Harvard graduate at this point. Maybe before Obama became President I would of been but not now. At this point I think it's more about having the time and money to go than actually intelligence.

Just an FYI about needing money to attend Harvard....

    http://www.fao.fas.harvard.edu/icb/icb.do

Our current financial aid policy has dramatically reduced the amount families with incomes below $180,000 are expected to pay, and parents of families with incomes below $60,000 are not expected to contribute at all to college costs.

So go tell your kids to get accepted to Harvard and they can go for free. There are no financial excuses...just get accepted thats all.

"This is an atrocity! Obama not only owes an apology to his daughter, he owes a personal apology to all 12 & 13yr old children in this country! But of course he won't. Do you really think he cares about 12yr old or 13yr old children!?! Of course not! This just proves it!" -Albert Einstein in a grave-side interview on Fox&Friends this morning. I do believe most of us, when a birthday is close, will state the older age - even months prior, not just a few days ... what seriously makes me lmao is the following:

I commented recently on the lib seed regarding Michele Bachmann's John Wayne gaffe, where the libs were having a serious laugh fest. I stated, 'hey, all is fair when it comes to laughing at gaffes on NV because both political sides do it steady'. The only difference is libs can't allow themselves to call a gaffe a gaffe and just laugh it off, as evidenced by their comments here. They jump all over a conservative gaffe, and criticize and laugh their azzes off, no matter how lame; but get pissy and insulted when we do it back. Remarkable. Yet, no surprise. LOL Great get 'em back seed, Kreeper... :)

With the Michele Bachmann gaffe with John Wayne, it reeks of Bachmann or an aid of hers working on a speech, with the intent of sounding very factual - and she/they goggled the town she was stopping in, & saw that John Wayne was from there, and jumped to quick to the conclusion that it was the wild west John Wayne - which is very "flaky", and typical soundingof the image Bachmann has earned for herself.

james, I am positive that you don't want me to list Obama's many, never-ending gaffes, with his always obvious intent of sounding very factual, yet actually being totally 'flaky'. He has quite the image going on for himself, that he has earned and owns. But you miss this simple little fact, somehow, don't you! LOL

I'm just saying it paints an irresistible picture of Bachmann sitting at a laptop goggling facts to use in her speech, making a funny mistake, getting facts mixed up between a serial murderer & an American Icon of another more acceptable kind :)

I do agree Bachmann's was a rather funny/silly mistake and if it were me I would be extremely mad at myself. :) Some gaffes are funny and some are very serious. I just wish Obama didn't do the serious gaffes so much. He makes me very uncomfortable. There is a list, that grows steadily longer of his serious gaffes. BTW, not saying the 'birthday' thing is serious, (I found it was funny that Grim got the libs back on this one). LOL

    2. Proposed a toast to the Queen of England while God Save the Queen was playing
    3. Forgot who the first live recipient of the Medal of Honor was awarded to
    4. Forgot that the family he was awarding the Medal of Honor to that their son had died, NOT alive!
    5. Thought that a cattle guard was a person and ordered them fired (Biden says let’s retrain them for Border Patrol), a cattle guard is a grid in the road not a person!
    6. Can’t remember his own children’s age

LOL! Not ALL his speeches just two, but nice try.

    http://www.factcheck.org/2011/06/obamas-bumbles/

"It's true that the president and first lady gave Queen Elizabeth II a video iPod when they visited Buckingham Palace in 2009. But there was more uploaded to the device than the president's 2009 inauguration speech and his 2004 speech at the Democratic National Convention when he was a state senator. ABC News' Jake Tapper reported that dozens of well-known musical show tunes were uploaded on the iPod given to the queen, as well as photos and video from the queen's visits to the United States in 1957 and 2007. There were also photos from the 2009 presidential inauguration. Tapper reported that the Obamas also gave the queen "a rare musical songbook signed by Richard Rodgers."

The White House said the queen had requested the iPod, according to a report from Fox News' Major Garrett. While the queen reportedly already had an audio-only version of the iPod, she did not have one capable of playing video. The queen's gift to Obama? A signed photo of herself, and the Duke of Edinburgh, in a silver frame."

Still none of Obama's gaffes have topped "Mission Accomplish" or "OB/GYNs practicing their love for women" by GWB or his daddy vomiting on the Japanese Prime Minister. Nor will they ever.

    I'm just sayin!

The kid turns 13 next month. As a parent, I know I had a tendency to roll the age forward when it got that close.

If rounding up his daughter's age by a month is the best you righties can find for criticism of Obama, you really are grasping at straws.

Or perhaps you should be examining your own maturity level. It's about time.

Not by me, I personally don't care what Bachmann has to say good or bad, gaffe or eloquent speech. The main issue I have about this, and you're free to criticize this, is that this doesn't seem like a gaffe to me. The days before your birthday, for all intensive purposes most people treat you like your that age already, especially parents, and especially with young kids.

          One time isn't bad.

Yeah, but Barack has a pattern of complete and utter brain farts. Yet, he gets away with it in the mainstream media. Would you be so forgiving if this were Sarah Palin or Michele Bachman?

Creeper, this is merely a case of a Dad freaking out because his little girl is acting like a teenager, and he's scared of the years ahead.

Seriously, sometimes people forget that being a parent is the hardest job in the world... I take credit for giving my parents hell day in and day out.

If they mistakenly messed up how old there children are, of course they'd be forgiven. Rewriting history is not a minor, inconsequential thing.

However, the gaffes on both side are hilarious.

In my family, My Dad can't ever remember how old I am, but he can remember how old my sister is; so he counts up four years and bingo he's usually right. My Mom always makes me a year older six months before my birthday. Parents do that kind of thing. As a matter of fact I just did it. I couldn't remember my son's age but knew my daughter's so I counted up four years and still got it wrong by a few months.

Something small like the "rounding up" I mentioned above about 1 month before the kid's birthday? Sure.

Claiming to be quoting the Constitution when they're actually quoting the Declaration of Independence?

Claiming the Census Bureau was created by Obama as part of some sinister Big Brother leftist plot to track us?

Promoting an abstinence-only approach to sex ed while hauling around a daughter who presumably got exactly that kind of oh-so-reliable preparation for life and yet got pregnant while the boyfriend was over for visits that were supposedly supervised by the parents?

Suggesting that we lower the minimum age to better the economy when economists are stating the demand side of things is slow because people don't have enough disposable income to buy extras like they used to?

Claiming Paul Revere was warning the British?

Demanding a stop to "wasteful government entitlement programs" while accepting farm subsidies?

Demanding Planned Parenthood be defunded even if the Hyde Amendment is being adhered to because federal money not spent on abortions "frees up" more private donations to do so, while ignoring the Constitutional prohibition of government support of religion posed by "faith based initiatives" that free up the church member's donations to promote religion?

Those little goof-ups? No, I think they're a little bit more important and I won't let them slide.

But please let me know if they do make such a mistake with their kids' ages and I'll be glad to defend them on that one issue at the very least.

I gave her the benefit of the doubt but I still laughed at her. It was, indeed, a simple mistake. What made it comical was the Gacy connection to it all. It could've only been worse had the town had a Hitler connection. :-)

douglasq: Exactly. So what she made a simple mistake on the John Wayne thing. Like you said - the comical part was the Gacy connection. Not really a big deal mistake on her part, imo. Same w/ this Obama mistake. I have two boys - one is 13 (almost 14) and the other is 7 (almost 8) - I've called my 13 year old 12 and 14 since he's been 13; and I've called my 7 year old 6 and 8 since he's been 7. To make it worse - their birthdays are September 15th & 16th - I always mix up which one was born on which day.

Neither of these mistakes are that big of a deal. You laugh about it because it's comical, then you move on. I can tell you this much - mistakes like this aren't the type of mistakes that make me doubt a person's abilities to be president. They are human mistakes.

The painfully comical part of it, though, is that the very human mistakes made by these conservative candidates are never acknowledged as such by their people: they do everything that is humanly possible in order to justify glaring statistical errors and other misstatements of fact. For example, if there had been a Hitler connection, the Bachmann camp would have released the following statement to Fox News:

Adolf Hitler's parents once lived in Waterloo, and Mr. Hitler virtually eliminated unemployment, greatly expanded public works, improved the infrastructure, and got the transport trains to the concentration camps running on time.

          .
          EXACTLY.

It's not the gaffes of Bachmann Palin Overdrive that make me crazy, it is the unwillingness to admit fault, even over such a thing. I respect a person who can say "my bad!" and laugh at their errors and correct them.

I don't respect those who stubbornly walk on, refusing to admit they are incorrect. No one is perfect, there is nothing wrong with admitting to an error in speaking or writing.

That's why I called you an Obama apologist -- he makes a mistake, and you explain it away.

Ages are counted by years; if someone is born on July 4th, they turn 1 year-old on the next July 4th. They don't turn 1 year-old on June 29th.

Not sure about you, but I wasn't born at the age of one.

I'm not the confused one, I was not aged one on the day I was born, no one is!! You seem to be the confused one, here.

You clearly are. You would see if you could comprehend my posts that people start at age 0 years-old. That's why the year after you are born you turn 1 year-old. You switch from 0 year-old to 1 year-old. If we started at 1 year-old, a person would be 2 years-old on their first birthday. That's not what I said, and only you were the one to suggest it. Maybe you just suck at math.

Since you are stuck thinking that you are born at 1 year-old, that's why you are off.

You also appear to be operating on a scale that is different from how the rest of our civilization calculates age. If someone is 13 years-old, they were born 13 years ago, that day, which in Obama's daughter's case is 4 days from today. We don't operate on, "she's heading into her 14th year" because she was born 13 years-ago-from-four-days-from-now.

Maybe you need some coffee, since your brain is asleep.

You're right. You need something much stronger.

You have been unable to address my comment directly, instead you built a straw man argument and argued against that. That's why I said what I said, but clearly it still goes over your head.

Oh, so you are a troll.

And I suppose you posted dozens of articles posted the month you joined?

Perhaps you just lack perspective? Perhaps you were born an adult, too?

But I see that you have fully degraded your comments to pure trolling, so I'll try out that Ignore This Author button you that taught me about.

After all, once I pointed out the flaws in your arguments you turned your attention to undermining my character. How wonderfully petty and arrogant of you. I'm sure that you are proud of yourself.

Do not think he realises multitasking can often lead you having to think a while to remember what your children's names are sometimes...

Still multi-tasking is a Presidential job, but gaffes are sending your nation to war over false WMD claims...

However this stuff works for the left, the right just looks more desperate...and petty..

Oh, Jeezis...Ever MEET a father with more than 1 kid?

Here's a fun game: find a man with two or more children, and ask him point-blank, "What are your childrens' names, and how old are they?" He's REALLY going to have to think about it, and he's probably going to screw it up. It doesn't mean he doesn't LOVE his kids and have intimate knowledge of their dreams and fears-it's just some weird brain-chemistry quirk that stand-up comedians have riffed on since the dawn of comedy.

I'm the youngest of four kids-my dad called me 'Bobby' (my older brother's name) so many times that I finally just started answering to it. When I visit my brother, after a few hours, he'll inevitably start calling his son "Paul" (MY name, which my nephew does not share). The fact that Obama 1) even REMEMBERED his daughter's name, and 2) was within a year is impressive.

You're going to have to try MUCH, MUCH harder than this.

My Aunt calls her daughter by my name sometimes. If us kids are all home and my mother is trying to call for my brother in the next room, this is what is sounds like: "Ra . . . Meg. . . Hea . . . JOSH!!"

My grandmother doesn't know how to spell my name, still, and I'm 29. Oops, I mean 28.

My father probably couldn't tell you the birthday of any of his 5 kids.

Wait, politicians are HUMAN?!? No way.

At least Obama has snapped out of the delusion he suffered at Westminister Abbey thinking it was 2008 when she'd be only 9 years old. Surely he doesn't now have it confused with 2012.

A much bigger gaffe from the same press conference was blaming Republicans for our screwed up budget mess. He and his party controlled Congress for two years. They couldn't manage to fund 2011 and I see no progress on 2012 either. Obama has been signing bills passed by a Democratic Congress, our deficit is at record levels, and we're looking at defaulting on our debt.

This was not a surprise. This didn't sneak up on us, and he has had the power to do something about it for a long time.

But it's the Repulican's fault. That has to be gaffe of the year.

Of course, the fiscal crisis began years before President Obama took office and even before Democrats got control of Congress. Profligate spending on two failed wars which was kept "off budget" by Republicans and horrendous tax giveaways to the wealthy combined to create a deficit/debt crisis that would have been massive even if the economy hadn't collapsed. Putting it at the Republicans feet is an accurate assessment.

Personnaly, the only reason I want to know is so we can prevent it from happening again. Right now, nothing has changed to prevent that.
